Jamie G. from Baltimore:
"Perhaps the most fun I've ever had in a church pew. You could tell the cast was enjoying themselves at LEAST as much as we in the audience were. I really think non-opera aficionados would love this - a great way to get your first taste of opera. Truly accessible opera in the Baltimore area, both financially and artistically. Can't recommend it enough."
Debbie J. from Washington, D.C.:
"I took three Motrin before coming tonight and was actually dreading seeing this opera but I wanted to come because my friend asked me...I was SO SURPRISED! I thoroughly enjoyed this opera. The narration was amazing and the cast was very funny. Why can't all opera be like this production? It was made accessible. Also, I was able to actually focus on the music because of the narration and wasn't worrying about reading librettos or sub-titles. This was so good that I wish I had brought my 15 year old son to see it. EVEN HE would have enjoyed it!”
Monty & Steve H. from Bolton Square:
“Phenomenal! We brought friends from Woodberry and Hamilton, and they couldn't believe we were sitting so close to such an exceptional pianist and such accomplished vocalists. We couldn't believe the $15 tickets would produce such a show. We couldn't believe how nice the performers were, to chat with, at the reception following. But now we believe! And we'll see you at the next show!”
Heather R. from Virginia:
“I haven't ever laughed so hard in an opera as I did when Despina did her Italian cowboy routine...it was PERFECT! I wish I could come again tomorrow night but we are already booked for the evening.”
Jack & Judith M. from Baltimore
“The performances were all first rate--just fabulous! Great music at a great price--plus wit and presence.”
Beth C. from Baltimore:
“Chesapeake Concert Opera is ridiculously entertaining! Run, do not walk, to obtain your ticket to the next performance. You will not regret it!”
Howard E. from Baltimore:
“We saw Traviata last night. To do this we walked one block and paid $40--easy! Although there were only ten [singers] on the stage instead of 100, it sounded big. Also, the smallness gave me perspectives that I didn’t get after seeing it live dozens of times and hearing it hundreds.”

"I have seen their Cosi Fan Tutti, Elixir of Love, and Traviata. They are incredible. It is refreshing to watch operas on small stages and with church acoustics. I also enjoy this company because after the performance, you can have a cookie and coffee and actually talk to the singers about the performance.”

"I have attended all four CCO performances and have been impressed by the phenomenal quality of the voices of the young, talented opera singers. I am a huge fan of CCO and support their concept of providing opportunities to young, talented opera singers to perform some of the great operas. I agree with Tim's comments about the intimacy of the performances and it is a bonus to be so close to see firsthand the expressions of the singers.”

"...The Park Ave Church has tricky sound but the Bolton St Church has perfect acoustics so I look forward to the other operas. Beth Stewart was excellent as narrator and greatly appreciated by my husband and daughter who had never seen or heard La Boheme and didn't know the plot. In addition to good voice I say Bravo to Marcello for great acting! Musetta too! ...Rodolfo's voice also reminded me of Pavorotti.”

"I had the opportunity to attend the Chesapeake Concert Opera’s performance of Cosi fan tutte in January. As an opera novice, I was not expecting to enjoy myself…but the evening was fantastic! The cast was extremely talented, and their acting was amazing. The narration of the opera was really fun, and I truly enjoyed the entire experience. I would recommend that anyone who is looking for a fun, light-hearted approach to opera would enjoy spending the evening with the Chesapeake Concert Opera’s superb musicians..”
